Overview

Ctrl+X is designed from the ground up to be private. We collect no data, track no users, and operate no servers that touch your browsing activity.

Data We Collect

None. Ctrl+X does not collect, transmit, or store any data on any server controlled by AvertXAI or any third party.

Where Your Data Lives

All data generated by Ctrl+X is stored exclusively on your machine in two locations:

  • chrome.storage.local — inside Chrome’s profile directory on your device
  • umbrella-backup.json — a portable JSON file written to your local disk by the native messaging host

No sync, no cloud backup, no remote access. If you uninstall the extension, your local data remains on your disk until you choose to delete it.

Cookies

ctrlx.avertxai.com sets no tracking cookies. No first-party analytics cookies. No third-party advertising cookies.

Analytics & Tracking

No Google Analytics. No Plausible. No Mixpanel. No Facebook Pixel. No any tracking script of any kind.

Third-Party Scripts

ctrlx.avertxai.com loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google’s font delivery may log the request IP as part of their standard CDN operation — this is outside AvertXAI’s control. No other third-party scripts run on this site.

Native Messaging Host

The native messaging host (host.py) is a plain Python script that runs locally on your machine. It does not make network requests. It writes data to your local disk only when you explicitly save a session.
